Follow up on IGR-IAE Rennes’ trip to Asia

Matthieu Mandard, Associate Professor and international partnership coordinator at IGR-IAE Rennes and Odile Soulard, international relations assistant, were in Asia the last two weeks.

Their mission was first to participate in the international APAIE Fair on the IAE FRANCE – Ecoles Universitaires de Management stand, in Bangkok. This fair is an opportunity to meet many universities in a single place and to establish potential new partnerships, while being able to greet existing partners.
On the sidelines of this fair, they also had the opportunity to attend a Franco-Thai higher education event, initiated by the French Embassy in Bangkok, and to visit the campus of a prospective partner in Thailand for IGR-IAE. Several social events took place during this week, including an evening organized by IAE France for all IAEs present at APAIE Bangkok.

The second week of the trip was time for a visit to our partner the Royal University of Law and Economics in Phnom Pen (Cambodia) in order to assess the first five years of the agreement, to discuss new developments within the two institutions and to discuss the renewal of the agreement in the upcoming months.

Next, we headed to Vietnam for a visit to our partner, the University of Economics and Business (VNU-UEB), where a very active agreement allows for numerous and well balanced student mobilities. New developments in our cooperation were discussed. Our presence in Hanoi also allowed us to meet a future partner, for very interesting discussions leading to fruitful cooperation between our institutions.

This trip was indeed strenuous for the team on mission, but it was essential for maintaining and developing our school on the international scene, especially in Asia, which is very popular among our students in their choice of international mobility!
