Doctorate studies
Doctorate students at IGR-IAE Rennes enjoy ideal study environment with close contact with our 50 professors-researchers involved in publications and seminars at an international level. They also benefit from seminars organized throughout the year, and research sessions with one of our 25 international visiting professors. Our students’ research projects are supported by the CREM research center in management.
Application requirements
To enter the first year of a Doctorate at IGR-IAE Rennes, you must have a Master’s degree or equivalent.
The second condition is to benefit from financial support for your Ph.D. project. You will find full information on the Campus France website. You should start your application to doctorate studies as early as January during your Master 2. If you already have financial support you can contact one of IGR-IAE Rennes’ professors and apply for doctorate studies to the EDGE doctoral school.
Study contents
The doctoral training of EDGE doctoral school is based first and foremost on the quality of the supervision provided by your thesis supervisor, a specialist in research in management (finance, management control, HRM, supply chain management,…). In addition to this individual supervision, you will benefit from an “individual monitoring committee” defined at the time of registration. EDGE Doctoral School offers 100 hours of doctoral courses preparing you for your thesis work as well as for your future career.
At the end of their doctoral project, CREM doctoral students defend a thesis and become ” PhD graduate of the Université de Rennes” or ” PhD graduate of the University of Caen Normandie”, in Economic Sciences or Management Sciences.
Career opportunities
Feedback from our PhD graduates show that many of them continue their careers, in France or abroad, in the fields of Higher Education and Research: academic-researchers in Universities or Schools (public or private) or researchers in major national organizations (Research Officer or Research Engineer at CNRS, INSEE, INSERM, INRA, …).
Others pursue their careers in companies (industrial or service), banks, public services (ministries, local authorities) and non-profit organizations (associations, regulatory authorities, international organizations, central banks, etc.)
