French grading system
In France, we use a 0 to 20 scale to report the grades. The grading scale goes from the top grade “19-20 points” for an outstanding performance (rarely awarded) to the bottom grade “0 point” for a very poor performance (or “no show”). The passing mark is at “10 points”.
Above “10 points”, the corresponding grades are “10-11 points” = C, “12-14 points” = B, “15-16 points” = A and “17-20 points” = A+.
Exam organization
An exam period is organized at the end of each semester. During that week, exams will be organized for some of the courses. The other courses are tested during or after the lectures (continuous assessment) and are included in the final grade. Each professor informs their students of the exam procedures.
